“Zero waste to landfill”: A pride of BAT in VN


As an essential part of the circular economy model at BAT in VN, effective zero waste to landfill campaign is another significant highlight.

In September 2020, BAT-Vinataba JV in Dong Nai reached a significant milestone: zero waste to landfill. All waste is sorted before being transferred to functional units for treatment.

Following the achievement of the factory in Dong Nai, our factory in Binh Chanh celebrated the milestone of zero waste to landfill on April 1, 2021. To achieve this, the factory has organized many training sessions of waste categorization for all employees as well as launched other environmental initiatives.

It is proud to say that since April 2021, there has been no waste sent to landfill from BAT’s factories in Vietnam. This milestone is aligned with BAT’s ESG agenda, committing to the conservation of our environment.

It can be said that this is a major investment and an improvement from the factory system in order to demonstrate BAT’s responsibility for sustainable development in Vietnam.
