The Solar Power system is installed on the rooftop of the factory starting in mid-December 2021 and the project team has accelerated to complete it within 6 weeks to avoid any risk of disruption or delay during the Tet holiday.

The system is to produce up to 1.4 GW of electricity, largely contributing to 2 Environmental targets:

  1. 22% Carbon emission reduction, and
  2. 26% direct energy from renewable

It also contributes to our productivity by savings an estimated £12K from electricity purchasing annually.

The project shows our strong commitment to driving the BAT ESG agenda in Vietnam and further demonstrated the team living our Company Ethos for project completion despite the challenging long-time engagement with the local Government for the solar power system installation due to the complexity of regulation.
