In response to severe flooding in Central Vietnam, BAT Vietnam contributed VND 500 million through the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support affected communities in restoring their livelihoods, one of many long-standing community initiatives reflecting the company’s enduring social commitment.
As climate-related disasters grow increasingly severe and unpredictable, the role of businesses in supporting community recovery and resilience has become more critical than ever.
In this spirit, BAT Vietnam continues to translate its social responsibility commitments into concrete action during times of greatest need. Most recently, the company donated VND 500 million to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, via its Ho Chi Minh City office, to support communities in Central Vietnam affected by severe flooding.
Representing BAT Vietnam, Ms. Do Hoang Anh expressed the company’s hope that the contribution would help affected residents stabilize their lives, while responding to the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s call for collective action in support of disaster recovery.
Receiving the donation, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Deputy Chief of Office in charge of Administration Division 2, acknowledged the contribution and emphasized that this year’s natural disasters have caused significant damage under the intensifying impacts of climate change, underscoring the need for greater involvement from businesses and society in rebuilding affected areas.
