BAT Vietnam - 100% green electricity at BAT Vietnam

Following the solar project that was implemented in Q1 2022, in July 2022, BAT Vietnam was officially awarded the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) certificate.
I-REC is a type of Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC), which represents one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity produced by renewable sources. Among the Guarantee of Origin (GO) used in the European Union energy market and the Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) in the US and Canadian markets, I-REC is used in regions such as Africa, Asia, and South America.
On obtaining this honorable certificate, 100% of electrical energy consumed at BAT Vietnam, including the 2 joint-venture factories and the head office in Dong Nai & Ho Chi Minh City, is now powered by green energy sources.
This is a proud moment for BAT Vietnam, marking a milestone in our goal of increasing renewable energy usage in our production and business activities.
