Recently, BAT Vietnam has successfully organized Wellness Month for all employees with the key message "Wellness is a habit, not a celebration" to encourage employees to nurture the good habits in caring and improving their health better.
BAT Vietnam was honored in the 2023 “Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards” on June 29th, 2023 held by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine.
In late April, the factory of BAT Vietnam in Dong Nai achieved PAS2060 carbon neutral verification for Scope 1 & 2 emissions carried out by Totum Institute (Brazil).
BAT Vietnam has been supporting the locals in leaf-growing areas to invest in loose-leaf barns, contributing to reducing its environmental impacts and protecting natural resources.

In March 2022, BAT Vietnam and the Women's Union of Duc Hue District, Long An disbursed a sponsoring loan for the project "Empowering women" with a capital of 400 million VND provided by BAT Vietnam.
Adapting to the “new normal”, BAT Vietnam has flexibly implemented the FlexWork pilot program for 6 weeks from March 21, 2022, to April 30, 2022, applicable to office-based employees for all entities, in order to improve the physical and mental health of employees by enabling them to be more flexible and proactive in arranging working time.
BAT Vietnam has marked International Women's Day with many exciting activities focused on this topic.
BAT Vietnam always cares for its employees, thereby building a strong and cohesive community. Due to the long-term pandemic, employees have had to switch to working from home, but that hasn’t faded that sense of community spirit. In fact it has been enhanced significantly through a wide range of activities including a recent online competition and talks.
In the 17 weeks leading up to June, BAT Vietnam’s “Exercise for trees” program attracted 117 people from various departments.
BAT Vietnam contributed US$50,000, equivalent to over VND1.1 billion, to the Vietnamese vaccine fund. On top of that, BAT has successfully applied the stay-at-work effort at its joint-venture factory to maintain production whilst preventing and fighting the pandemic.
BAT Vietnam has been named the winner of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA) 2021 in two categories: Investment In People and Corporate Governance.

Our sustainability efforts in Vietnam have been clearly demonstrated through impressive numbers.
As an attempt to minimize environmental impact, BAT-Vinataba JV in Dong Nai and VINA-BAT JV in Binh Chanh District, HCMC have entirely switched from traditional light bulbs to LED lamps.
BAT’s plant in Dong Nai increased its water circulation rate from 26% in 2000 to 35% in Q1 2021 by using rainwater instead of fresh water source, and by reusing water for the deodorization system. This is also the most enthusiastic response to this year’s World Water Day (March 22) with the theme of Value of Water.
As an essential part of the circular economy model at BAT in VN, effective zero waste to landfill campaign is another significant highlight. In September 2020, BAT-Vinataba JV in Dong Nai reached a significant milestone: zero waste to landfill. All waste is sorted before being transferred to functional units for treatment.
Apart from doing business and manufacturing sustainably as well as efficiently supporting partners, BAT always prioritizes to contribute to communities where BAT operates. This is a testament to BAT’s firm commitment to the community in the journey of building a better tomorrow for Vietnam. On this journey, the board of leaders and employees of BAT Vietnam earlier this year visited Dong Nai Province in order to hand over two charitable houses to underprivileged families.
In Gia Lai, where BAT has one of the largest leaf growing areas in Vietnam, an outbreak of Covid-19 occurred in early February 2021, severely affecting the lives of people here. In order to help them overcome difficulties they were facing, BAT in Vietnam has donated necessities, hand sanitizers, and necessary medical items.
In Vietnam, BAT is supporting its suppliers through annual quality audit, focusing on activities related to employees and working environment. This can help them standardize to not only partner with BAT in Vietnam but also become suppliers for BAT in other markets.
Recently, BAT has been featured in some top local media such as VIR, Tien Phong, Nhip Cau Dau Tu through stories about how the company has been pursuing sustainable development in recent years.
