On June 11, 2019, BAT Vietnam, in cooperation with HCMC Police Newspaper, inaugurated a rural road in Thoi Thuan hamlet, Thoi Xuan commune, Co Do district, Can Tho city and a rural bridge in Chanh Hoi B hamlet, Ngai Hung commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province. Earlier, on June 10, BAT Vietnam and HCMC Police Newspaper also donated a charity house to a poor resident of Thanh Hung hamlet, Thanh Phu commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu, Secretary of Communist Party Committee of Thoi Xuan commune, Co Do district shared: “There are over 1,000 people living in this hamlet. It is a mere 100m from here to the main road, but we had to make a detour of more than 2km. Now, with a road being built thanks to BAT Vietnam, people here are very happy. The road is short but the convenience is inconsiderable.
Mr. Phan Van Thao who has just moved in the new house, said: “In the past, my family lived in a decrepit house. It would be miserable in the rainy season. Thanks to support from BAT Vietnam and local authorities, now we can live in a good house. I feel very happy since this is a miraculous gift that our family never even dreamed of. We would like to express heartfelt thanks to BAT Vietnam.”
