BAT Vietnam has been named the winner of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA) 2021 in two categories: Investment In People and Corporate Governance.

On September 2, in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, the awards ceremony took place online to recognize the top-performing enterprises in local communities during the current pandemic. In their 10th year, the awards acknowledged 69 enterprises out of the 205 shortlisted from 16 countries - the highest number of nominees in AREA’s history.

BAT’s Build and Elevate Future-Fit Talent initiative was awarded in the Investment In People category. The program aims to create a work environment that is engaged and motivated, and makes people feel valued. Our three-year strategy is to build and elevate future-fit talent by focusing on enhancing the functionality and leadership capabilities of employees and helping them to realize their full potential.

We also won the Corporate Governance category for our Delivery with Integrity program that focused on our strong commitment to deliver with integrity everything we do. Our Standards of Business Conduct have required and encouraged all staff to act with a high degree of integrity, and comply with the applicable standards, laws and regulations. This commitment has been elevated from compulsory to a proud signature culture of BAT.
